Fox Nation is speeding into the sports docuseries space, picking up a new season of 100 Days to Indy, as well as the rights to the show’s first two seasons.
100 Days to Indy chronicles the drivers and teams of Indycar in the 100 days leading up the Indianapolis 500. The first two seasons of the shoe aired on The CW and also streamed on Netflix.
For Fox Nation, the show marks a significant expansion into the sports world, with some corporate synergy involved too. Fox is the official broadcaster of the Indianapolis 500, and Fox Nation will stream a replay of the event after it airs on the broadcaster, in addition to the docuseries.
Fox had Penske team driver Josef Newgarden at its upfront presentation earlier this month, where he talked about seeking a three-peat.
“We are thrilled to share exclusive access inside the lead up to the race and a behind the scenes look at the fast-paced, exhilarating world that is Indycar,” Fox Nation president Lauren Petterson said in a statement.
“I’m beyond proud and excited to bring back 100 Days to Indy for a third season on Fox Nation and continue to tell the stories of the world class IndyCar teams and drivers, bringing them closer than ever before,” added 100 Days to Indy co-executive producer Patrick Dimon. “Indycar is the fastest racing on earth and the most competitive series in the world and the Indianapolis 500 is one of the biggest sporting events of the year with a passionate fan base and now we get to tell the story of these teams and drivers throughout the season. We are excited to continue to work with our amazing partners at Fox Nation as they continue to expand their original sports offerings. My team and I have documented this incredible world for the last two years and fans can expect even more action and drama on and off the track in this new season.”
100 Days to Indy is produced by Penske Entertainment and A-Frame Productions.
